Strawberry is one of those plants that can self-fertile. Strawberry flowers have five white petals with a ring of 20-25 yellow anthers and 50-200 stigma. However, strawberry plants usually need the assistance of wind or pollinators such as bees to help do the work of transferring the pollen for the stamens to the stigma.
Note: The male elements of a flower are called the stamens which are made up of the anther at the top, and the stalk or filament that supports the anther. The female elements of a flower are collectively called the pistil. The top of the pistil is called the stigma. The stigma has a sticky surface receptive to pollen.
