Betta Fish (Siamese Fighting Fish)
Is one of the most popular small tropical pet fish. They come in a large variety of colours and have beautiful fins.
However, there are things to look out for when having them in a fish tank. For example, Bettas are a members of the gourami family and are well known to be highly territorial.
Males in particular are more aggressive and will attack each other if housed in the same tank. When there is no place for them to escape, then the usual result is the death of one of both or the fish.
Female bettas are less aggressive but can still territorial towards each other. Therefore, it is not recommended to keep even a female and male together in the same tank unless for temporary breeding purpose.
Despite some challenges, betta fish is still a perfect choice for a tank size like Nature Garden where the water quality is kept to the best by the system.
